About This Program

Do you struggle to find the right UL fire-rated design and the appropriate STC rating for a particular partition? Did you know you can enhance UL designs by adding products like insulation to a wall partition? Learn the “tricks of the trade” in specifying the proper fire and sound performing walls. This presentation will describe the most effective and efficient way to locate rated assemblies in the web-based Product iQ. We will discuss fire-rated assemblies, area separation walls and other wall partitions that require reduced sound transmission between spaces, leaving you with a clear understanding of how to achieve specific STC ratings and determine the most effective UL rated gypsum design for your project.

Session Takeaways

  • Gain a clear understanding of the online UL Fire Resistance Directory resource, Product iQ™
  • Analyze fire-rated gypsum board designs and determine the most effective UL rated design for your project
  • Understand conventional construction methods, as well as innovative means to decrease sound transmission while increasing valuable square footage
  • Learn about the different sound resilient assemblies available for the design and construction of high STC wall partitions
