    Description

    About This Program

Urbanization has seen human habitation encroaching into areas that were traditionally the realm of wildlife presenting birds with unfamiliar obstacles and structures to which they have difficulty adapting to. This problem is compounded by the increasing use of glazing in architecture. From skyscraper curtain walls to feature windows in domestic buildings, glass has become an important material for both structural and aesthetic purposes.

    Session Takeaways

    • Identify the threat that glass poses to migrating birds
    • Learn about new interlayer products designed to mitigate bird strikes
    • Recognize the increasing number of building codes around bird-friendly glazing
    • Select appropriate glass structure to achieve multiple glazing objectives including bird-friendly glass
