Description

About This Program

This presentation will cover a detailed explanation of the challenges and solutions facing flashings and transition membranes throughout the building envelope. Attendees will gain a thorough understanding of flexible self-adhering stainless-steel membranes, silicone rubber extrusions, and liquid applied flashing. The presentation will emphasize the importance of compatibility and explain proper installation techniques.

Session Takeaways

  • Identify critical building envelope transitions and solutions
  • Provide an understanding of how silicone rubber extrusions function and perform, and how these engineered transition systems can minimize risk and maximize control of air and moisture infiltration.
  • Attendees will learn how these systems are engineered, how they can be incorporated in designs, and the added value they bring to a building enclosure system when used to transition at critical connections with the potential for increased liability.
  • Discuss advantages of liquid applied flashings and proper installation
