Advocating for Patients: Obtaining an Override from Insurers & Employers

On March 10, CSRO hosted a webinar to share insight on how to advocate for patients to get overrides and continue successful treatment.

Template letters and a review of the request and appeal process were provided by CSRO's Payer Issue Response Team members Julie Baak, Nilsa Cruz and Karen Ferguson, and moderated by CSRO President Madelaine Feldman, MD, FACR. These industry experts also shared tips from their experience on-the-job.

Additional CSRO Resources:

  • Map Tool: find your state on our interactive map tool to learn about pending and active legislation that affects rheumatology and your practice, including our NEW cover sheets to request step therapy exceptions
  • Template Letters: use our letter templates to help you contact insurers and other payers.
  • Payer Issues Reporting Form: request assistance with any payer relation issues that may be impacting your patients or office, including help with your override.
Other resources mentioned during the webinar will be added here, when they become available.
