  2. Distilled Spirits Regulator...

Distilled Spirits Regulatory Overview: TTB Regulations Parts 5 and 19

Other than the laws found in the FAA Act and the Internal Revenue Code related to distilled spirits, no provisions may be more important to the production and sale of distilled spirits than Parts 5 (Labeling and Advertising of Distilled Spirits) and 19 (Distilled Spirits Plants) of TTB’s regulations. All members of the spirits industry formulating products and operating distilled spirits plants must be intimately acquainted with these regulations, as they dictate a whole host of issues central to the production and sale of spirits in the United States. There are many factors and considerations found in these regulations that can trip up even veteran industry members and knowing how to best navigate these issues is critical to keeping your operations compliant and getting your products into the marketplace in a timely manner. This Foundational Course will detail these vital TTB regulatory sections, discuss advanced considerations and analyses, and provide expert insights on what you need to know to keep your products and operations advancing without unnecessary delay.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the full scope of  issues regulated by Parts 5 and 19, including labeling, bottle sizes, standards of identity, and the production of spirits, and what you need to know about these regulations to best position your business
2. Determine how to deal with complex issues that may arise from these Parts, such as class/type issues and spirits production, processing, and storage considerations
3. Learn how to best work with TTB officials to troubleshoot any regulatory issues you encounter and participants will hear from industry experts about their experiences and tips for navigating Part 5 or 19 related issues
