  • Derek Farrell, Ph.D.

    Derek Farrell, Ph.D., is a Principal Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Worcester (UK). He is the current President of Trauma Aid Europe and Chair of the EMDR Europe Practice Committee. Derek is also a Scientific Advisor to the Board of Trauma Aid Germany. He is involved in numerous Humanitarian Trauma Capacity Building programs throughout the world. In Geneva 2013, Derek was the recipient of the ‘David Servan Schreiber Award’ for Outstanding Contribution to EMDR Therapy. In June 2018 Derek was also awarded the Trauma Aid Europe ‘Humanitarian of the Year Award, in Strasbourg, France.

  • Matthew Kiernan, Ph.D.

    Prof Matthew Kiernan is a retired UK Naval Officer, now Director of the Northern Hub for Veteran and Military Families Research, which is based at Northumbria University (UK). Additionally, Matt is Chair of the Independent Advisory Panel British Army Training Center and School Infantry. Matt is involved in extensive academic research - Principal Investigator to several projects including death by suicide within military and veterans populations, and loneliness & PTSD. Matt is a member of the Editorial Board for JEMDR Practice & Research.

  • Mehmet Karadag, M.D.

    Associate Professor Karadag is child and adolescent psychiatrist at Gaziantep University. He is founder and manager Gaziantep University Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department Trauma Center. He has several publications in child and adolescent psychiatry area such as PTSD, ADHD, ASD, and refugee mental health. He is also trying to contribute to EMDR academically. He has five EMDR paper (one of these a first research about first EMDR-derived self-intervention in period of COVID-19) and one book chapter. He is one of the editors of the Turkish translation of EMDR and the art of psychotherapy with children. He visited Syrian war area, earthquake area to apply early EMDR interventions.

  • Ricky Greenwald, Psy.D.

    Ricky Greenwald, Psy.D., is the founder and executive director of the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute, and a fellow of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Greenwald is the author of numerous professional articles as well as several books, including EMDR in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy (1999), Child Trauma Handbook (2005), EMDR Within a Phase Model of Trauma-Informed Treatment (2007), Treating Problem Behaviors (2009), and Progressive Counting (2013). His work has been translated into over a dozen languages. His current research is focused on EMDR, PC, therapist training, intensive trauma-focused therapy, and the Flash technique.
