Utilization of EMDR Therapy with Grief and Mourning (2023)

Grief is a person’s reaction to loss and mourning is the adaptation to the loss. A loss can be complicated by a) traumatic circumstances (such as a violent and unexpected death) b) the separation distress due to the loss itself, and c) unresolved past trauma and losses. EMDR therapy can be helpful in the treatment of complicated grief. This workshop will provide theoretical frameworks for conceptualizing grief and mourning from an AIP perspective, and illustrate teaching points with video case examples.
