Concussion: Acute Care Implications

Correlate pathophysiology and clinical subtypes of concussion to improve consistency amongst physical therapists for an evidenced based examination. The course will highlight the importance and specifics of both patient and family education for improved outcomes.

To be able to identify which conditions can be exacerbated by concussion
To be able to identify which signs and symptoms of concussion will lead to a prolonged recovery

Be able to identify red flags in which the patient should be sent to the ER or call MD
