Course Description
This presentation will discuss the safety and efficacy of resistance training for children and adolescents in the physical therapy environment informed by original research. The speaker will review the principles of resistance training programming and apply the principles of specificity, overload, progression, and reversibility as it relates to the physical therapy plan of care. By the end of this presentation, the audience will understand how to design a resistance training program while considering exercise selection, frequency, order, intensity, volume, and rest for the pediatric patient.
