Course Description

This course will provide a general overview of considerations for the physical therapy management of patients with COVID-19 throughout the continuum of care, from acute onset of illness and inpatient management to outpatient management of the Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 or “Long COVID”.

Learning Objectives

1. Describe basic COVID-19 pathophysiology from an organ systems perspective

2. Interpret the significance of medical examination findings (lab values, imaging, etc.) with respect to their possible impact on Physical Therapy management of patients with COVID-19

3. Apply concepts regarding potential best practices for the Physical Therapy management (evaluation and treatment) of patients with COVID-19 across of variety of settings and acuity (i.e. acute care to outpatient).
