Frank Meek, currently Manager Technical Services for Rollins
Inc., the parent company of Orkin LLC and many other recognizable pest control
brands. He started his career with Orkin in 1986 as a termite service sales
inspector in College Park, Ga. After several years of success in both sales and
service, he was promoted to management in 1990.
He has served in branch, region, and division management positions in
different locations, at one time running the company’s Caribbean operation.
In 1999 Meek moved into the Technical Services Department as
the technical manager for commercial pest control operations. In 2003 he was
promoted to technical director, where he was responsible for the product and
equipment selection for all Orkin’s pest control operations. He also provided
research into new chemistries and concepts for potential use by the company and
provided technical support via email, telephone, and in person for the 400-plus
branches in North America and the
international operations. In 2008 Frank became the International Technical and
Training Director supporting 90 plus locations around the globe in over 60
countries. In this capacity, he provided
technical resources and training for all international operations for Orkin,
Inc.
In 2020, Frank returned to the US Technical Team for
Rollins, providing support to Orkin and the other Rollins brands of pest
control.
Meek is a regular speaker at NPMA and many international,
state, and regional pest control association meetings as well as non-pest
control industry associations such as the American Society for Healthcare
Environmental Services (ASHES) and others. He has had many articles published
in pest control industry trade magazines as well as in major media outlets such
as Wall Street Journal and the NY Times, CNN, MSNBC and others. He has also
represented Orkin in national television appearances on shows such as the NBC
Today Show, and CNN and ABC News.
In 2005, Frank co-authored the IPM Recommended Practice book
for ASHES, which has become the standard for providing pest management service
to the healthcare industry. In 2010,
Frank authored the chapter on Occasional Invader Pest in the 10th
edition of the Mallis Handbook to Pest Control Operations.
In 2015 Frank was named as an advisor to the Scientific
Committee for the Chinese Pest Control Association.
He was recognized by PCT magazine in 2003 as one of the Top
40 Under 40 for his contributions to the industry. He is a member of NPMA, Entomological Society
of America, Pi Chi Omega, a professional fraternity for the pest control
industry, NEHA and many other organizations.
In 2001 he earned his BCE recognition, in 2021 his PCQI designation and
in 2022 he earned the Public Health Entomology Certificate PHE. In 2022 Frank received, from the
International IPM Symposium, the inaugural International IPM Achievement Award
(IPM Practitioner – non-aca. This award recognizes people who have made
outstanding achievements in IPM adoption, implementation and sustainability.
