Debra Houry, MD, MPH
Debra Houry, MD, MPH, is the Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Director for Program and Science at CDC. Most recently, she served as CDC’s Acting Principal Deputy Director and prior to that Dr. Houry served for over 7 years as the Director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Dr. Houry previously served as an associate professor at Emory University and emergency physician at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Houry received her MD and MPH degrees from Tulane University and completed her residency training in emergency medicine at Denver Health Medical Center.

Rita Burke, PhD, MPH - Department of General Pediatric Surgery, Children's Hospital of Los Angeles
Rita V. Burke, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Preventive Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. She has over 60 peer-reviewed publications. She is the Associate Editor for the peer-reviewed journal Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness and co-author of Landesman’s Public Health Management of Disasters. Her research focuses on pediatric trauma and disaster preparedness especially for children with access and functional needs.

Wendy Ellis
Wendy Ellis is the Founding Director of the Center for Community Resilience at the George Washington University. The Center provides technical assistance and policy analysis for cross-sector partners to align resources, programs and initiatives with community-based efforts to address adverse childhood experiences and adverse community environments-- or as Ellis has coined it"The Pair of ACEs".
Dr. Ellis has spent the last decade developing and working to grow a 'resilience movement' to address systemic inequities that contribute to race- and place-based social and health disparities.

Nadine Burke Harris, MD, MPH, FAAP - Office of the California Surgeon General
Dr. Nadine Burke Harris is an award-winning physician, researcher and advocate dedicated to changing the way our society responds to one of the most serious, expensive and widespread public health crises of our time: childhood trauma. She was appointed as California’s first-ever Surgeon General by Governor Gavin Newsom in January 2019. Her career has been dedicated to serving vulnerable communities and combating the root causes of health disparities. She is the Founder of the Center for Youth Wellness, an organization leading the effort to advance pediatric medicine, raise public awareness, and transform the way society responds to children exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress. Dr. Burke Harris’ TED Talk, “How Childhood Trauma Affects Health Across the Lifetime” has been viewed more than 7 million times. Her book “The Deepest Well: Healing the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Adversity” was called “indispensable” by The New York Times. She is the recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award presented by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Heinz Award for the Human Condition.
