Alfredo Morabia, MD, PhD
Alfredo Morabia is a Swiss American doctor, epidemiologist and historian. He is currently professor of epidemiology at the Barry Commoner Center for Health and the Environment at Queens College, City University of New York. He is the Principal Investigator of the World Trade Center-Heart cohort study, and he lectures and teaches on the history of epidemiology internationally in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Public Health and is also editor of "Epidemiology in History" in the American Journal of Epidemiology and was supported by the National Library of Medicine to write about the history of epidemiology.

Michael E. Bird, MSW, MPH
Michael E. Bird is a Santo-Domingo/KEWA Pueblo Indian from New Mexico. Bird has more than 30 years of public health experience with Native American populations in the areas of medical social work, substance abuse prevention, health promotion and disease prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, behavioral health, and healthcare administration. Bird served as a national consultant to AARP on Native American/Alaska Native communities and was a member of AARP’s National Policy Council. He served as the Director of Region 6 for Native Americans with ValueOptions-New Mexico. He is past executive director of the National Native American AIDS Prevention Center, and worked with the Indian Health Services for 20 years. Bird is the first American Indian and social worker to serve as APHA President.

Allison Berry, MD, MPH
Allison Berry, MD MPH has served as the health officer for Clallam County since 2018, and Jefferson County since 2020, leading both counties through the COVID-19 pandemic. She received her medical doctorate and masters of public health from Johns Hopkins University and completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center. She continues to lead both county’s health departments with a dedication to equity and scientific independence.

Adam Kader served as Arise Chicago's worker center director for 14 years before becoming public policy director in 2021. He is proud of his Palestinian roots and his union member parents who instilled an enduring commitment to social and economic justice that he has carried throughout his work.

Thomas A. LaVeist, PhD, MA
Thomas LaVeist is dean of the Tulane University, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He has written for scientific journals as well as mass media outlets, authored six books, and is executive producer of “The Skin You’re In,” documentary series about racial inequalities in health. He received the “Innovation Award” from NIH, the “Knowledge Award” from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
