Jamila
M. Porter, Chief of Staff at the de Beaumont Foundation, serves as strategic
advisor to the President and CEO, works across teams to drive results
throughout the Foundation, and ensures that equity and justice are
organizational priorities. An award-winning researcher and
experienced executive, Ms. Porter’s work focuses on transforming the
interconnected social, environmental, and power structures that impact health.
Judy Monroe, MD,
president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, has dedicated her career to protecting
people and saving lives. Dr. Monroe mobilizes philanthropic and private-sector
resources to support CDC’s critical health protection work. She is a widely
recognized for her work to improve the health and well-being of people around
the world, and for her commitment to the future of public health.
Kate Treanor is Senior Program Director at Grantmakers In
Health where she leads the Philanthropic Growth and Impact portfolio.
Previously, she was a Senior Policy Analyst at AHIP. Ms. Treanor earned a
bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and master’s in social
work from The Catholic University of America.
Susan is associate executive director for public affairs and
advocacy with APHA, overseeing the Association's departments of government
relations and affiliate affairs, communications and membership. Dr. Polan is
responsible for planning and directing APHA's legislative, regulatory and legal
activities, communicating those initiatives and Association news to members and
the public, and overseeing membership recruitment and retention and Affiliate,
Caucus and Section relations. Dr. Polan
earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She later earned a master's of science degree in
health psychology from San Diego State University and a doctorate in social
ecology from the University of California, Irvine.
