Presentation Icon
The mission of the AADR National Student Research Group (NSRG) is to foster an environment whereby students interested in enriching their dental education through research are encouraged to do so. Consistent with our mission, the NSRG will assist dental students and trainees in pursuing research training opportunities in dentistry at the 2021 IADR/AADR/CADR Annual Meeting in Boston, M.A. The overarching goals are for the audience to learn about 1) potential career paths for trainees, 2) ongoing cutting-edge clinical and transitional dental research, and 3) an exciting training opportunity for postgraduates - the Dental Clinical Research Fellowship (DCRF) at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). The NSRG will host an interactive discussion session with former NIDCR clinical research fellows who have transitioned into science careers in academia and government as well as one current fellow. All panelists will provide insight into their career trajectories, training experiences, and research activities. Each panelist will give a 10 minute introduction on their current position and research activities. Following introductions, the audience will have the chance to engage the speakers with questions, moderated by an NSRG board member. A moderator will keep time and facilitate discussion as necessary.
