The acting NIH Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity, Dr. Marie A. Bernard, will present an overview of NIH’s current approach to inspire inclusive excellence in the U.S. biomedical workforce. Discussions will center around why diversity matters and best practices to promote inclusion, institutional transformation, and culture change. Dr. Bernard will also provide an overview of current NIH initiatives utilizing best practices to inspire inclusive excellence, including the NIH Equity Committee and the Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) Initiative.
