2022 IADR/APR General Session

The 100 th General Session & Exhibition of the IADR was held in conjunction with the 5th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Region. The virtual meeting was attended by individuals from around the world. Those attending the meeting could choose from among 207 Interactive Talk sessions, seven Focused Learning Sessions, three Hands-on Workshops, five satellite symposia, 52 Symposia, one Distinguished Lecture Series and a plenary.

The recordings in this library from the meeting are a selection of the science that was to be presented as part of the General Session. These recordings give you the opportunity to participate in the meeting and hear from leading researchers. The recordings include the IADR Distinguished Lecture Series speaker and symposia from a collection of scientific groups and networks.

This session can be purchased as part of the full meeting recordings within the product bundles

Session Description
For many decades, our knowledge on craniofacial, tooth pulp and regenerations are largely based on old technologies and classic views. Development of novel ideas and broad applications of cutting-edge research tools (including powerful multiple photo confocal, improved electronic microscopies, single cell sequencing and cell lineage tracing plus more animal models) have greatly changed our views on who we are regarding craniofacial and tooth biology and how diseases occur. This symposium will provide a timely scientific update in the following four research frontiers for basic and clinicians with interest in craniofacial/pulp development, mineralized tissue biology, and tissue regeneration, amongst others.

Learning Objectives
  • Proposing a novel solution for corrections of cognitive abnormalities in craniosynostosis using different animal models;
  • Understanding the role of stem cells and microRNAs in regulating craniofacial and regenerative medicine
  • Revealing the mechanism by which bone, as a default program, appears before the onset of tooth (dentin) via the TGFb signaling pathwayDemonstrating the direct roles of tendon in craniofacial bone formation/regeneration, and the onset of Rickets-caused bone abnormities
