2022 IADR/APR General Session

The 100 th General Session & Exhibition of the IADR was held in conjunction with the 5th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Region. The virtual meeting was attended by individuals from around the world. Those attending the meeting could choose from among 207 Interactive Talk sessions, seven Focused Learning Sessions, three Hands-on Workshops, five satellite symposia, 52 Symposia, one Distinguished Lecture Series and a plenary.

The recordings in this library from the meeting are a selection of the science that was to be presented as part of the General Session. These recordings give you the opportunity to participate in the meeting and hear from leading researchers. The recordings include the IADR Distinguished Lecture Series speaker and symposia from a collection of scientific groups and networks.

This session can be purchased as part of the full meeting recordings within the product bundles

Session Description
Oral cavity is a unique niche in body, with the colonization of more than 700 species of bacteria. oral hard and soft tissues, forming a complex microecology. It has found that the formation of oral microbiome starts soon after born, and during the tooth eruption, primary dentition, mixed dentition and early permanent dentition of children, the oral microbiome changes dynamically. The relationship between the oral microbiome and children’s oral and systemic health has drawn great attention for years. How is the oral microbial eubiosis established in children? What might happen when the balance of oral microbial ecology is broken? Meanwhile, it has been found a complex interaction between oral microbiome and host cells. Will the break of the micoecological balance affect cell homeostasis and activity? Will this further implicate tissue repair and regeneration, tooth development, and etc.? Furthermore, oral microbiome has also been reported potential in the diagnoses and treatment for oral infectious diseases. How does it work? In this symposium, we would like to invite 3 specialists in oral microbiome, oral infectious diseases and pediatric oral health to discuss about these interesting questions and share their emerging opinions.
