Course Description:
The AADOCR National Student Research Group (NSRG) is conducting a meeting aimed at Pre-Dental students who may be involved in research. This session is open to all pre-health undergraduate students who want to learn more about ways to be involved with the AADOCR (i.e., research, leadership, and mentorship), how to improve your CV for professional programs (i.e., dental, medical, and Ph.D. programs), and learn about how to showcase your research and receive national recognition. Board members of the NSRG will be hosting this session to speak to student peers about opportunities and the ins and outs of getting an education in research. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of individuals in different phases of their dental research education.

James Jang

James Jang (he/him) is the 7th year DMD/PhD candidate at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. James has been involved with the AADOCR for 6 years and is currently serving as the AADOCR National Student Research Group President. He is focused on encouraging pre-dental students to get involved with research and take advantage of opportunities provided by AADOCR/IADR organization. He would like to help prospective pre-dental student members to gain most out of their research experiences and enhance their chances for dental school admissions. He would also like to encourage pre-dental members to apply for dentistry DDS/DMD and PhD combined programs.
Rachel Kulchar

Rachel Kulchar (she/they) is an undergraduate at Princeton studying Chemistry and minoring in Global Health & Health Policy as well as Materials Science & Engineering. She has been involved with the AADOCR as an undergraduate for the past two years, presenting her research internationally through the opportunities IADR provides. As NSRG’s Member-at-Large, she hopes to encourage more undergraduate representation within the AADOCR, allowing undergraduates to network, build their CV, and grow as a student leader.
Drashty Mody

Drashty Mody (she/her) is a 4th year DDS/PhD student at Indiana University School of Dentistry. With a background in microbial ecology, she is interested in pursuing a research-centered career that studies host and microbiome adaptation within auto-immune-like conditions such as oral chronic graft vs. host disease. As the Graduate Student Representative-elect this year in NSRG, she hopes to expand the network of oral care researchers to include various perspectives and possibilities.
