Description

Ray daSilva moderates a discussion on financial risks facing the moving industry.  This session was presented on October 23, 2020 as part of the IAM 58th Annual Conference.

  • Ray daSilva

    President, Mobility Exchange, LLC 
    Ray daSilva started his career in the mobility services industry in 1978 as a moving consultant for Alaska Orient Van Service, a United Van Lines agent in Anchorage, Alaska. He has held positions in sales, management and executive roles based in Anchorage, Honolulu, Singapore, London, Florida and Washington, DC. During his 23 years with the Crown Worldwide Group, Ray served on its Executive Board where he contributed to the growth of its global network of offices.

    He played a key role in developing Crown University, a visionary staff training and management development program. Throughout his career, Ray has believed in the inherent power of facilitating connectivity and collaboration within a fragmented industry. This led him to contribute to the development of RedSky Mobility Solutions, an innovative cloud based international move management system. He currently serves as President of Mobility Exchange, LLC which develops and implements collaborative technology solutions for the mobility services industry in partnership with the IAM.

    Over 40 Years of Industry Experience
    Mark began his career with Pickfords in 1978 and learnt the moving industry from the bottom up. In 1991, Mark was selected to relocate to the United States to work on the development of the Allied Pickfords brand then managed supply chain for the global international moving leader.
    Mark went on to lead SIRVA’s International Moving Division to record profitability and was heavily involved in the expansion of SIRVA’s global footprint through licensing, franchising, and investment in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe. With a strong strategic mind-set and his experience in merger and acquisition, Mark’s knowledge of international moving is highly regarded, and he has become an influential and respected resource in the industry.

  • Aulina Mithal Sood

    Director – Star Worldwide Group, Pvt. Ltd., India

    Aulina completed her university education in the United States and started her career in the Relocation services industry in 2002 by joining her family mobility business, Star Worldwide Group, in India. She joined as a trainee in operations and gradually mastered every process related to handling all kinds of relocations.

    She has since attended many seminars, industry related courses and conferences over the last 20 years. Aulina holds a Gold certificate degree from the FIDI Academy. She has served on several boards such as FIDI INDIA from 2011 – 2016 and on the FIDI 39 Club board for 08 years including as the President from 2012-2014.

    Her achievements also include completion of one-year course in Image Management and Soft Skills training and is a certified trainer by NABET in 2015. In 2016, she co-founded ‘Shift Karado’, a domestic relocation services company. A first of its kind, technology enabled platform in India to offer customers instant pricing and booking for domestic relocation with the help of an App.
    Currently, Aulina is a Director at Star Worldwide and is responsible for all aspects of the company including profit and loss of the relocation division and reports to a Board of Directors.

    More recently, Aulina has been elected to serve on the FIDI Board.
