Participants will learn about career options in private vocational rehabilitation. The training and preparation required to perform these jobs will be discussed. Information regarding how to begin to create a private practice will also be shared.

Learning Objectives

After this webinar, participants will be able to:
  1. Attendees will learn about career options available in private vocational rehabilitation.
    - Areas discussed will include forensic rehabilitation, case management, disability management, Social Security testimony, life care planning, and transitional rehabilitation.
  2. Attendees with learn about training and experience required to perform these jobs.
    - Certifications, licenses, preferred degrees and general training requirements will be clarified for each of these areas
  3. Attendees will obtain a basic understanding of how to establish a private practice to perform these career options.
    - Business matters will be discussed that include incorporation options, taxation, and real-life issues and solutions encountered by private practitioners.

    Tony Morin is a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant with Unum, a Life and Disability insurance company. He has worked in the vocational rehabilitation field for over 25 years. Tony received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. He is currently on the IARP Board of Directors in his second term as Director of Marketing and Membership. He has previously served on the board as the RDCM Section Representative and has served as the IARP New England Chapter President.
