Description

Join us for a webinar to develop a broader understanding of the system of group homes in the United States. Participants will learn the history of group homes, the different types, and operations of these programs. The presenters will discuss the availability of group homes for individuals with dual diagnoses and the complications surrounding this. Finally, the webinar will address how to research group home costs, including those that are funded by the state. Attendees will leave this webinar with a skill set in best advising individuals with respect to their options concerning placement in such facilities.

    Dennis C. McAndrews is the Founder and Managing Partner of McAndrews Law Offices, P.C. He served as Executive Director and Staff Counsel to two select committees of the Pennsylvania State Senate which evaluated Pennsylvania’s system of care for persons with disabilities and drafted proposed legislation designed to modernize Pennsylvania’s legal basis for the provision of care to the intellectually disabled.

    Art Fastman is the Director of Operations at Clark’s Manor - Elwyn. He is an experienced Behavioral Health Executive with expertise in program and clinical operations in the treatment of substance use and co-occurring disorders, including medication-assisted therapies. He is well-versed to successfully establish, adjust and adhere to licensing and regulatory standards, policy and procedure, clinical curriculum, staffing, and budgeting for outpatient, inpatient, non-profit and for-profit providers.
