Join us for an IARP webinar with neurosurgeon Dr. Allan D. Nanney and moderator Sara Shugars, MS, CRC, CCM, AEP, LVRC. Dr. Nanney will provide a comprehensive overview of Trigeminal Neuralgia including clinical features, evaluation, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical interventions, complications and prognosis.  Additionally, a case study will be provided to all attendees prior to the Webinar for review and questions can be submitted for Dr. Nanney to address during the webinar.  The case study involves a patient that was involved in an MVA, which resulted in Trigeminal Neuralgia, postconcussive syndrome, and cervical/thoracic injuries.  Ms. Shugars will also discuss case management, rehabilitation, ergonomic and vocational implications.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Explain Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) including clinical features, evaluation, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical interventions, complications and prognosis
  • Describe the case management, rehabilitation, ergonomic and vocational implications of TN and co-morbid conditions.
  • Apply the concepts taught to a case study involving a patient with TN

  • Dr. Allan D. Nanney, III, MD

    Dr. Nanney received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Northwestern University where he also completed two enfolded fellowship programs, one in minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spinal deformity correction and the other in skull base and open cerebrovascular surgery.---Dr. Nanney has published on a variety of neurosurgical topics including skull base neurosurgery, open cerebrovascular surgery, endovascular neurosurgery, micro-surgical simulation techniques and value based care in neurosurgery. His areas of clinical interest are broad and include minimally invasive spine and complex spine surgery, spinal deformity correction surgery and general cranial neurosurgical pathologies.
