This session will serve as an introduction to understanding Individual Education Programs (IEP’s). Lisa Byrne, MA, CRC, LCPC, PVE will share the core components of an IEP. Additionally, this presentation will discuss common terminology and processes, IEP goals, differences between an IEP and a 504 plan, RTI, and more.

Learning Objectives

  1. Upon completion of the webinar, participants will understand the core components of an IEP.

  4. Upon completion of the webinar, participants will have a better understand special education language, common terminology, and the IEP process.

  • Lisa Byrne

    Lisa Byrne holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis in Deafness from Northern Illinois University. In addition to earning her CRC, LCPC, and PVE, she is also a Licensed Interpreter for the Deaf in Illinois. She has been actively involved in the IARP- Illinois leadership board for six years, and was recently elected as the Transition Representative to the Standards Compliance Review Board.

    Lisa has 20 years of work experience including vocational rehabilitation service provision for state and non-profit organizations, private worker’s compensation corporations, medical facilities, colleges, school districts, post-secondary environments, and currently owns The Eval Center located in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Her experience includes over 15 years of working with transition age youth. Her company specializes in providing comprehensive Vocational Evaluations for state and federal agencies, insurance companies, working with veterans, providing expert testimony, as well as completing Vocational/Transition Assessments and related services for a variety of school districts and organizations in the Chicagoland area.
