[No CEs] How has IARP and its predecessor, the National Association of Rehabilitation Professionals in the Private Sector, literally changed the landscape of rehabilitation on a global basis since its inception in 1978? A brief overview is provided of products and programs which have their inception in research and development initiatives by IARP members over the past 35 years. In the aggregate, these achievements underscore the importance of ongoing R&D leaders and innovation in current times. To be sure, they also contribute to a proud history of the organization and a far-reaching influence on disability policies and practices worldwide.

At the completion of this program participants will be able to:
- Articulate at least 8 unique achievements directly related to the contributions of IARP and key members who were significant innovators
- Describe the far reaching influence and replication of these achievements on rehabilitation policy and practice, in some cases with global implications.
- Support and encourage the essential role and function of research and innovation by IARP and the rehabilitation community.
