Assistive Technology and Accommodations in the Workplace

[No CEs] Rehabilitation Professionals are in the position to educate, support, and collaborate with individuals who can benefit from the use of assistive technology. This presentation discusses what types of accommodations can be used in the workplace for various types of occupations.Case study examples of different disabilities, assistive technology plans and accommodations will be discussed to demonstrate how such modifications can assist an individual in participating in employment.

  1. Identify assessments that can aid in determining assistive technology need for individuals.
  2. Identify high cost and low tech accommodations that can be used in the workplace among different disability groups.
  3. Define various types of assistive technologies and vendors which provide such technologies.
