Bone Pain - a Common Symptom of Malignant and Non-Malignant Skeletal Disorders: Mechanisms and Treatment

Persistent and debilitating bone pain is a common symptom associated with skeletal disorders such as bone metastasis, osteoporotic vertebral collapse and osteoarthritis, and also with many rare bone diseases. This workshop will address the impact of bone pain; the current progress in research and potential treatments; and the challenges to be addressed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion of this session, attendees will have an understanding of the impact of bone pain; the current progress in research and treatment; and the challenges to be addressed.
  • Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to address how their research might contribute towards better treatments of bone pain.
  • Upon completion of this session, attendees will have an increased awareness of bone pain and the importance of research and development within this subject.
