FALCPA: Simple Yet Complex On-Demand Webcast

This webcast was organized in partnership with the Grocery Manufacturers Association.

This webinar revisits the seemingly simple yet complex requirements of the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). Allergen related recalls remain the highest reason for recalls for both FDA and USDA regulated products, even though compliance with FALCPA has been due for over 10 years.

This webinar features experts in the areas of food law, food safety and consumer protection, who will address the following topics:
1) types of foods covered by FALCPA
2) advisory labeling and FALCPA
3) foods exempt from FALCPA requirements and
4) the process for submitting a notification and petition under FALCPA

Participants will have a better understanding of the requirements and effective implementation of FALCPA to reduce/prevent allergen related product recalls. Additionally, participants will gain insight on the prevalence of food allergies and the importance of clear allergen labeling for individuals with food allergies. At the end of the webinar we devoted time for our expert panelists to answer questions from participants.
