Thank you to IFT's Carbohydrate Division for organizing this webcast.
Although the world produces enough food to feed its inhabitants, many people still go hungry. For example, 48 million of 321 million people in the United States experienced food insecurity in 2014. Understanding what food insecurity is, and its prevalence in communities, is key to solving this crisis.
This webcast aims to provide insights on
- food insecurity and hunger
- prevalence, frequency and cause
- food availability, utilization and access
- communities affected
- solutions to end food insecurity
