The International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) established the Education and Research Foundation in 1990 to help fund the many needs within the ophthalmic medical assisting community.
The mission of the Foundation is to expand and strengthen the delivery of eye care. To achieve this mission we provide scholarships and grants in support of students enrolled in accredited ophthalmic training programs and Allied Ophthalmic Personnel (AOP) looking to advance their certification or increase their knowledge and skills through continuing education.
The Foundation also supports the development of new certifications and high-quality and relevant certification and recertification standards to support excellence in eye care.
