AI and the Future of Literacy Learning

Original Presentation Date: August 27, 2026, 5:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m. ET

The conversation around AI has evolved quickly. So have the questions educators are asking. As AI and digital technologies reshape how young people learn and create, educators have an opportunity to revisit and reimagine what literacy looks like today. Join Ty Hollett and Bradley Robinson as they explore how AI is influencing the way students read, write, and learn, as well as the questions educators should be asking as AI becomes more deeply embedded in everyday instruction.

Participants will:

  • Better understand the opportunities, concerns, and big questions surrounding AI in order to make informed decisions for the classroom
  • Explore practical ways to help students use or refuse AI thoughtfully while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and student voice
  • Gain insight into how students are learning about and using AI in their everyday lives—and what that means for literacy instruction

Intended For: Classroom teachers; reading specialists; literacy/instructional coaches; principals/administrators; higher education faculty
