During this webinar, we discussed some of the similarities and differences between the US and UK legal systems. This brief overview should provide enough of an understanding to successfully navigate the procedural (and language) differences you may encounter during the training.
The discussion was led by Judge John L. Carroll, professor of law at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. Judge Carroll has been an integral part of the National Advocacy Training Program from its inception in 2015, and has attended every iteration since. He speaks to the value of the methodology and the outcomes of the program. His talk offers solid advice and perspective on the differences between the two legal systems which will ensure everyone gets more out of their experience at the NATP.
We were also joined by Javier Jalice, Esq. with Ogletree Deakins in New Orleans, LA. Javier is an alumnus of the 2017 NATP in Chicago and spoke to pre-program preparation, "homework," and how really engaging will help you get the most out of the training.
