The State of Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession

This talk will explore the history of diversity in the legal profession to the present day. Prof. Lain will discuss barriers to become a more diverse and representative profession, in addition to exploring how practices may inhibit diversity. She will briefly touch on issues of the broken pipeline, bias, systemic challenges that people from marginalized identities face to becoming lawyers while exploring best practices practitioners can all engage in to overcome those obstacles.
