Description

Lou Musante (Echo Strategies) and Rick Stachel (Gannon University)

This IRI PILOT Research project, in partnership with Echo Strategies, will be reporting out the findings of their two-year study in which they looked to achieve the following: 1) Acceleration of the transformation of corporate entrepreneurship capabilities by identifying best and next practices executives and high-level managers can use to focus and support their organization’s non-incremental innovation initiatives. 2) Validation of a practical working model of corporate entrepreneurship that includes research and development activities, corporate venturing and strategic renewal including business model innovation and business process reengineering. 3) A baseline set of comparative statistics with which companies can compare their current entrepreneurship practices and performance. 4) Creation of language, with companies, to better define corporate entrepreneurship and to make it more measurable and actionable.

  • Lou Musante, Echo Strategies

    Serial entrepreneur and research designer who spent the 1970’s and early 1980’s working in large global corporations. He started his first company in 1984 and has launched and helped launch dozens of others. His background is in chemistry with a master’s in information science. Areas of focus: research design and product development, digital transformations, design thinking, innovation leadership and strategy, performance measurement, collaboration methods, creating disruptive innovations using SaaS-PaaS and corporate entrepreneurship. He Vice President of Growth @ Echo Strategies and lectures at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Melon University. Lou has been an advisor to the Corporate Startup Lab at CMU since inception.

  • Rick Stachel

    Rick Stachel is an assistant professor of healthcare administration and business at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and director of the Master of Healthcare Administration program there. Prior to joining Gannon, Rick was a marketing intelligence director at Philips Healthcare where he managed a team of researchers involved in developing and launching medical devices. Rick has a doctorate in information systems from Robert Morris University, an MBA in International Business from Point Park University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Duquesne University. He also earned a professional certificate in online education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
