Overview
Visuals can play a critical role in effective communication, enhancing the audience’s understanding and retention. The ability to communicate visually is of particular value when conveying abstract or complex ideas, with image quality and complexity correlated with a reader’s perception of scientific credibility. Given that data is such a driving force behind decision making, it is important to understand how to communicate visually, delivering a more compelling and easily understood story that is also associated with enhanced recall.
This special ISMPP U session is open to all and may be of interest to those wanting to learn more about visual medical communications, including infographics and visual abstracts. You will have an opportunity to submit questions at the end of the webinar. Please forward this announcement to colleagues and educational programs. All are welcome!
At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Be aware of changes in the scientific communications environment and how visual communication supports effective and transparent exchange of medical information without compromising scientific integrity
- Define key visual elements that can support scientific and medical concepts
- Understand the publication considerations for visual communications
