Digital content consumption has become the new normal. When digital formats were first introduced in science communication a few years ago, they were received with some skepticism and were merely seen as an optional supplement to journal publications. But over the last couple of years, and even more critically since the COVID-19 pandemic, digital enhancements have become a mainstay for extending the life span of content collections and expanding their reach, engagement, and impact. Digital enhancements such as infographics, graphical abstracts, and video summaries directly talk to the on-the-go content needs of busy HCPs, and considerably drive up the brand recognition and recall value of the publisher. In the era of information explosion, such enhanced content can be the critical factor that sways the reader's split-second reading decision in your favor.

While "real-world impact" can be difficult to define and measure, this session will present real-world examples of how diverse industry stakeholders --- particularly pharma and publishers --- have embraced digital enhancements as an intrinsic part of their publication strategy to attract and retain the fleeting attention of their digital audience.
