AP ISMPP U - Current publication trends in Asia Pacific and what the future holds

Publication enhancements, such as graphical abstracts, author videos, and plain language summaries, can be used to engage a wider audience with the publication of a manuscript. While such enhancements are becoming increasingly common in global English-language publications, the added time and resources required for their development necessitate a targeted approach in the APAC region. It is hence important to understand the publication trends in APAC to identify the opportunities and challenges faced in the adoption of publication enhancements, with the aim of making medical information more accessible to our target audiences.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session attendees will:

  • Understand current journal publication trends in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region from the perspectives of a journal editor and journal publisher
  • Understand how the use of publication enhancements in the region may differ from the US and Europe, and the direction that APAC is heading towards

Publication enhancements, such as graphical abstracts, author videos, and plain language summaries, can be used to engage a wider audience with the publication of a manuscript.     • Received her B.A. from Renmin University of China and M.A. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong
