Bringing it home: The next generation of clinical trials

The COVID pandemic both accelerated adoption of decentralized trials, with an increase in trial activities conducted remotely and in participants’ homes, and exposed the importance of decentralization in making clinical trials more patient-centric. What have been the challenges and learnings? How will this impact the future of clinical trials, data collection, and publication planning? And how have decentralized trials impacted patient expectations around how medical research is conducted and the role of patients as partners in the clinical trial process? This session will be led by the Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance, whose mission is to enable collaboration of stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of patient-focused, decentralized clinical trials and research within life sciences and healthcare.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand how decentralized trials can support EDI
  • Understand how the changing clinical trial landscape has and is changing the patient engagement dynamic and expectations
  • Understand the potential impact of decentralized trials on publication planning
  • Know the future directions and goals for the Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance
