Keynote: Flash of genius - Learning the art and science of creativity (ISMPP MEMBERS' ONLY)

Please note: This is an ISMPP members' only session. You must be an ISMPP member to view this presentation.

As we look to what skills and attributes will make us ‘future-ready,’ creativity will be a key differentiator, particularly as AI and technologies of efficiency continue to grow. The standard view of creativity is one of constant brainstorming punctuated by sudden flashes of genius - it is not something one can be intentional or methodical about. This keynote will turn this theory upside down and explain from a scientific point of view how flashes of genius actually occur and provide ways any creator can increase their odds of having one.

Allen Gannett, author of The Creative Curve, will educate on the four patterns of behavior, known as ‘The Four Laws of the Creative Curve’ that all creatives engage in and how anyone can leverage these to maximize creative insights.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand the neurological and psychological mechanisms behind ‘flashes of genius’
  • Know how mass content consumption can lead to more ‘aha moments’
  • Understand ‘the 20% principle’ strategy and how to implement it
  • Understand how to time trends to create the right ideas at the right time
This session is approved for .5 CMPP credits
