Good Publication Practice 4 (GPP4): Major changes, lessons learned, and next steps

Guiding principles and recommendations form a backbone for the development of high-quality publications. As the profession evolves to meet new advances in publishing and expanding responsibilities, guidelines need updates to meet current needs. Good Publication Practice (GPP) has long been a feature of the publication profession and has undergone periodic revision.

The newest iteration of GPP, GPP4, was needed to address advances in electronic and digital publishing environments as well as publications of research beyond the clinical trial. This session follows on from and expands on the GPP4 discussion at ISMPP EU. Members of the GPP4 Steering Committee will describe the GPP4 development process and provide a topline commentary on changes and new topics.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand the process taken by the GPP4 Steering Committee in the development of GPP4
  • Gain an overview of the updates in GPP4 and how these will impact publication development
