Artificial Intelligence (AI) is impacting medical publications and communications and will continue to play a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of our profession and practices.

A new ISMPP Position Statement and Call to Action on Artificial Intelligence will be published in Current Medical Research and Opinion (CRMO) in early November. ISMPP members and all medical publication and communication professionals are encouraged to gain familiarity with and adopt the principles in the ISMPP AI Position Statement and Call to Action.

  • The AI Position Statement urges medical publication and communication professionals to commit to various important elements, including appropriate utilization and disclosure of AI, driving accountability, ensuring responsibility and trust, and maintaining confidentiality, among others.
  • The Call to Action for ISMPP Members spotlights the vital, leading role that ISMPP members should play in becoming educated and trained on AI; implementing and using AI responsibly, transparently, and fairly; and advocating for and actively engaging with AI within and beyond their organizations.

Attend this webinar, presented by co-chairs and members of the ISMPP AI Task Force, to learn about the principles in the ISMPP AI Position Statement and Call to Action, and gain knowledge about various considerations that went into the creation of the principles. Ask questions of the AI Task Force faculty about the AI Position Statement and Call to Action, and the use of AI in medical publications and communications.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will
●Understand the principles of the ISMPP AI Position Statement and Call to Action and their rationale
●Gain knowledge of how to apply the ISMPP AI Position Statement and Call to Action to their own practices and to that of their organization and beyond
●Recognize stakeholders’ responsibilities in deploying and utilizing AI in their environments
●Implement policies and procedures to adopt AI in their environments and enterprises, including supporting training and professional development
