Dana has over
10 years of medical communications and scientific publishing experience. She
joined Caudex in 2008, and is now Managing Client Service Director for Caudex,
based in the United States.
In this role, she provides high-level commercial,
operational, financial, and scientific insight combined with account leadership
of client services and scientific services teams. She effectively manages and
coaches her team to ensure excellence in product delivery across the
communication mix.
She is also responsible for promoting best practice across
client accounts ensuring operational effectiveness.
Dana has led communication
and publication planning activities in several therapy areas including oncology,
immunology, cardiology, virology, neurology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and
metabolism.
Dana obtained her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the
University of Massachusetts and Virginia Tech. She has been a Certified Medical
Publication Professional since 2010, served as Chair of the Recertification
Committee, and currently serves on the ISMPP Certification Board.
Megan Weigel is the Publication Advisor
Specialist at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), where she provides guidance to
colleagues on company and industry publication policies, procedures, SOPs, and
best practices. Megan has held roles in medical communication agencies,
providing project management support to diverse pharmaceutical and biotech
clients in a range of therapeutic areas since 2014. Throughout her growing career,
Megan has developed training materials and implemented training sessions to new
employees as part of larger efforts to provide education on industry and client
best practices. She also has experience creating content, SOPs, and training
guides specific to publication management systems that have been successfully
used for employee onboarding and promoting adherence to industry best
practices.
Megan is ISMPP CMPP™ certified, and is a
mentor for the CMPP mentorship program, where she continues to provide guidance
to many publication professionals as they prepare to take the credentialing
exam. Megan also serves as Vice Chair on the ISMPP Certification Board.
Currently, she is leading an initiative within BMS to encourage colleagues to
gain CMPP certification and provides direct mentorship opportunities to
interested employees. Megan earned a BA in Organizational Communication from
SUNY New Paltz.
Danita
is Director of Credentialing at the International Society for Medical
Publication Professionals (ISMPP). In her past, she has served as Chair of the
Certification Board and is proud to have been among the subject matter experts
who developed the first ISMPP CMPP certification exam.
She joined the ISMPP
staff in April 2019 after a 20-year career in the medical communications and publications
industry, where over the years she held the positions of medical writer,
medical director, and medical communications consultant for her own company
Proficiency Science. She earned a PhD in Pharmacology from Yale University and
has held the ISMPP CMPP™ credential since 2009.
