This module will provide a review of Vision Zero and Safe Systems strategies used in North America and the rest of the world. Attendees will receive a detailed overview of the concepts, including the ethical and moral prerogatives, associated with Vision Zero and Safe Systems, and will learn about the different dimensions of shared responsibility and multimodal user interaction in roadway design and speed management. This module is closely linked with Module 7, focused on roadway safety policy, and attendees will learn about specific policy strategies for implement Vision Zero and Safe Systems in an agency-level context.
