  • Christine Potocki, PE, PTOE, Sr. Transportation Engineer | VHB

    Ms. Potocki is a senior transportation engineer with VHB. Christine has eleven years of experience specializing in transportation and traffic engineering projects. Her experience includes traffic control design, policy development, traffic analysis and safety studies, roadway design, and campus transportation planning. Christine has been an active member of ITE since her graduation from Virginia Tech in 2008. She is currently the Secretary of VASITE, a member of the Transportation Consultants Council, and recently co-Chaired the 2019 Joint SDITE and MCDITE Annual Meeting. She advocates for young members to get involved in ITE through committee work and young member programs. On a personal note, Christine and her husband Brian have two little boys, ages 11 months and 3 years old, both of whom attended a Southern District ITE meeting by the age of 6 months. Christine looks forward to sharing her personal experiences and insight on what younger employees are looking for in their careers and at their firms!

  • Karyn Robles, AICP, Director of Transportation | Village of Schaumburg, IL

    Ms. Robles is the Director of Transportation for the Village of Schaumburg, Illinois, a suburban community located northwest of Chicago. She received a B.A. from Miami University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Ms. Robles has 15 years of municipal transportation planning experience, and in her current role is responsible for managing the Village’s transportation network including oversight of the Village’s multi-modal transportation planning efforts including leading investigation of new transportation improvements, technologies and funding opportunities as well as management of the municipal airport and helistop, transit and bikeways programs. Prior to joining the Village of Schaumburg, Ms. Robles worked for the City of Naperville, Illinois and the City of Carmel, Indiana.

  • Dr. John Mason, Ph.D., PE, Chancellor | Penn State Harrisburg

    Dr. Mason is a 1972 alumnus of Penn State Harrisburg, returned to lead the campus as chancellor in 2018. Prior to his arrival at Penn State Harrisburg, he had served as vice president for research and economic development at Auburn University in Alabama. In his role at Auburn University, Dr. Mason served as the chief research officer and provided leadership for strategic research and economic development initiatives. He simultaneously served as the president and CEO of the Auburn Research and Technology Research Foundation that developed the Auburn Research Park. Dr. Mason was an associate dean of the Penn State College of Engineering from 1997 to 2008, during which time he led strategic and programmatic activities associated with research, graduate programs and outreach within the college. While at Penn State, Dr. Mason was a professor of civil engineering and the director of the Pennsylvania Transportation Institute. Dr. Mason earned a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and, prior to joining the Penn State faculty, was a civil engineer working on various highway design and safety projects.

  • Raj V. Ponnaluri, PhD, PE, PTOE, PMP | Florida DOT

    Mr. Ponnaluri is the State Connected Vehicle and Arterial Management Engineer at the Florida Department of Transportation. In addition to leading the state’s arterial management, wrong-way driving and connected vehicle programs, he assists with the development of the TSM&O initiatives. He holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering, Master of Science, master of business administration, and PHD in transportation engineering. He is a registered P.E., PTOE and PMP. He has 22 years of experience in Traffic Engineering and Operations, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O), public transportation, and projects and contract management. Raj has published his work with several journals including the ITE and the Transportation Research Board. He is a member of ITE and serves on ITE’s TSM&O National Council.

  • Jeff Gerken, P.E., PTOE, Southeast Regional Manager | Albeck Gerken

    Mr. Gerken leads a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians providing TSM&O services to public sector clients. He co-founded Albeck Gerken, Inc. in 2000, which was recently acquired by Iteris and he is now the Southeast Regional Manager. Jeff spent 23 years in the military serving in various roles including submarine nuclear power plant operations, navy diver, and Civil Engineer Corps officer assigned to the Seabees.

  • Julie Johnson, HR Director, SE Region | VHB

    Ms. Johnson is an HR leader and part of VHB’s People and Culture Team, a diverse group responsible for enhancing the employee experience, inspiring and promoting a connected and inclusive culture, and strengthening VHB’s brand. Julie oversees the development and delivery of creative, engaging employee programs that reinforce VHB’s core values and business goals. Additionally, Julie oversees VHB’s best-in-class recruiting program and also provides HR support for VHB’s Southeast Region.

Harry holds M. Ed. and B.S. Degrees from The Pennsylvania State University.
