    Mike Whiteaker is the City Transportation Engineer for Lakewood, Colorado. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado and a PTOE. He worked previously for the City of Bellevue, Washington and for the Washington State DOT.

  • Peter Koonce, P.E., Signals and Street Lighting Division Manager| City of Portland, OR, USA

    Peter Koonce, P.E., manages the City of Portland Bureau of Transportation's Signals, Street Lighting, & ITS Division and is responsible for the oversight of an annual budget in excess of $25 Million and 53 professionals. He has served as an adjunct professor at Portland State University teaching graduate level courses in transportation engineering. He is a member of the Bicycle Technical Committee of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and is active with multiple professional societies including Institute of Transportation Engineers, the National Association of City Transportation Officials, and the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals.

  • Ho Nguyen | City of San Jose, Department of Transportation

    Ho Nguyen is the ITS Manager for the City of San Jose, Department of Transportation. He has been with the City of San Jose for more than 20 years, 17 of those years focused on ITS, traffic signal design and operations. He manages a team of 6 ITS and network engineers, responsible for managing a network of over 950 interconnected traffic signals and communications for 20,000 smart street lights. His current projects include deployment of a central EVP system, pilot testing of central TSP, ATSC deployment at 70+ intersections, and planned ATSPM deployment at 100 intersections.
