  • Moderator: Dr. David Yang, Executive Director | AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety

    Dr. C. Y. David Yang is the Executive Director of AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and he oversees the day-to-day operations of this non-profit research and education organization. Previously, he was with U.S. Department of Transportation. Dr. Yang attended Purdue University and received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in the field of civil engineering.

  • Dr. Nicholas Ward, Professor| Montana State University

    Nic Ward is a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Montana State University. He is Director of the Center for Health and Safety Culture. This center examines the effects of community and organization culture on health and safety behaviors, including traffic safety, substance abuse, child wellbeing, and interpersonal violence.

  • David Liu, Regulatory Safety Manager | American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

    David Liu is employed by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. where he is responsible for Product Regulatory Safety Affairs on emerging topics, including Crash Avoidance, Crashworthiness, and Automated / Connected Vehicles. David has been with Honda for 14 years and previously served as a Principal Engineer and Technical Expert in Chassis Design at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. David received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and holds multiple patents.

  • Kristin Kingsley, Director of Safety | Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers

    Kristin Kingsley is Director of Safety at the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the leading trade association representing automakers selling new vehicles in the United States.
    Before coming to the Auto Alliance in December 2016, Ms. Kingsley spent 15 years working for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as a vehicle safety engineer.
    Ms. Kingsley has her Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Crash Analysis Center at the George Washington University.

  • Dr. John Milton,PhD, PE, RSP, PTOE, Director of Transportation Safety and System Analysis | Washington State Department of Transportation

    Dr. Milton is that State Safety Engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation, where he has over 30 years of experience in transportation safety, design and traffic operations. He received his Ph.D, from the University of Washington. His research has focused on the contributing factors to crash severity and frequency. He is the Chair of the Safety Section for the Transportation Research Board, Safety and Road Users Group, Vice Chair for the Committee on Safety for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials and is a member of the United State National Committee to the World Road Association (PIARC) where he is the Chair for the Road Safety Committee.
