    Dustin Qualls, PE, PTOE, RAS is the principal of TEI | Traffic Engineers, Inc. He obtained his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in the year 2000. Dustin is a recognized expert in improving traffic safety for all street users, especially at higher-education campuses and K–12 schools. Dustin’s 19 years of traffic engineering experience include traffic signal design and timing optimization, intersection and sidewalk design, Intelligent Transportation System design, HOV/HOT lanes, signing and pavement marking design, congestion management, and a wide variety of traffic studies. Dustin also has extensive experience utilizing GPS for sign inventory and data collection. He is the winner of the 2008 TexITE Houston Chapter Young Engineer of the Year and 2012 TexITE Texas Section Young Engineer of the Year.

    Peter A. Truch, P.Eng., PTOE, FITE, IAP2 Trained is an independent senior transportation planning, mobility, and operations engineer with two decades of experience. Peter is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer(TM), Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and Trained in Public Engagement through the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). He is creative and engaging, and delivers every project with technical expertise and passion. He has worked as a consultant and for municipal governments and now runs his own practice, working on interesting projects across Canada, and looks forward to helping out his neighbours across the US. Peter’s focus on transportation and place making in the built environment is geared toward municipal governments. He advises on the life cycle of vehicular based and active transportation, from planning and design to operational issues, financial implications, and the numerous links and associations to other disciplines. He is a strategic advisor and sought-after speaker connecting health impacts, planning and transportation in the built environment, and is actively involved in transportation safety around schools. Peter completed an eight-year term on the executive of the Canadian District of ITE in 2017, including serving as President for two years for the 2000+ member organization. He continues his involvement in professional associations by volunteering his time as part of the executive committee for the Healthy Built Environment Alliance, led by the BC Provincial Health Services Authority, volunteering at his sons' school, including serving as the Safe and Active Transport Coordinator, and the quintessential Canadian activity of managing and coaching minor hockey.

    Patrick Wright is a traffic engineer from Georgia Tech with 35 years of experience. He has worked with townships, boroughs, and cities throughout Pennsylvania on local road safety issues for the last 15 years through the PA Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). Pat instructs about 60 safety related classes each year, on topics ranging from basic traffic sign installation to pavement markings and work zones. He also provides direct technical assistance to municipalities, and conducts over 100 basic traffic studies per year, including stop signs, speed limits, intersection safety, curve safety, crosswalks, and others.
