    This webinar discussed the certifications offered by the Transportation Professional Certification Board (TPCB): Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE); Professional Transportation Planner (PTP); Road Safety Professional, Level 1 (RSP1); Road Safety Professional Level 2 (RSP2). Presenters spoke about why they pursued certification and how it has helped their career development.

    During the second part, participants will hear about the certification process as well as learn more about the preparatory resources available through ITE.

      Dan Hardy is a principal with Renaissance Planning in Arlington, VA. He has over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors developing transportation solutions that balance transportation and land use options to optimize multimodal travel demand and transportation network services in congested communities. Dan is a former chair of ITE’s Transportation Planning Council and is a co-author of ITE’s Recommended Practices on Transportation Impact Analyses for Site Development and Planning Urban Roadway Systems.

    • David Petrucci, P.E., PTOE, RSP2I, Senior Safety Engineer | USDOT - Federal Highway Administration

      Mr. Petrucci is a Senior Safety Engineer and member of the Safety and Design Technical Service Team in the Federal Highway Administration’s Resource Center. Mr. Petrucci has over 17 years of total traffic engineering experience in consulting and government, specializing in data-driven safety analysis, intersection and pedestrian safety, and roadway design. Mr. Petrucci has served as a core team member of the FHWA Every Day Counts Data-Driven Safety Analysis (DDSA) effort and provides technical assistance, training, and technology deployment to state, local, and tribal governments and customers throughout the United States. Mr. Petrucci has been an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) at the local and international levels including serving as a member of Executive Committee of the ITE Traffic Engineering Council (2011 to 2017), and the Executive Committee of the ITE Transportation Safety Council as Vice-Chair (2016 to 2018) and Chair (2018 to 2020).
