Being Media Savvy: How to Position your Projects

Description

Whether it be print, radio, television, online, or social, media has the power to highlight great projects or destroy them. Presentations from public relations professionals, members of the media, and experienced engineers will cover the basics of public relations, provide an understanding of the media, and highlight successful examples using the media for better community engagement. With this media training you will be able to clearly and confidently discuss projects with members of the media and build relationship that help with community engagement efforts. A follow-up webinar will delve more deeply into the role of social media in the profession.

    Mr. Shah is a Transportation Project Manager in American Structurepoint’s Road Group. He has eight years of professional experience in the transportation industry and is actively involved with the design, development and management of traffic engineering services offered by his firm for various public and private clients. He also has two years of experience as a research assistant in the area of transportation planning and infrastructure finance at Purdue University. Hardik holds dual Master's degree (MSCE) from Purdue University with focus on Transportation and Infrastructure Systems & Construction Materials. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Michigan & Ohio and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certified by ITE's TPCB.

    Ms. Brawner is the Town Engineer at the Engineering Division of the Town of Little Elm, Texas.

    Mr. Still is the Communications Coordinator at Cape Cod Commission in Barnstable, Massachusetts with 24 years of media experience.
