Webinar Description:
This webinar is a presentation and summary of two ITE’s Quick Bites developed from the Grade Crossing Committee. This session will provide an overview of the importance of recognizing safety concerns of existing or proposed bicycle infrastructure at railroad grade crossing that are skewed at the roadway approach. Content will also cover best practices in implementation of two-way separated bike lanes at railroad crossings including overcoming some common challenges and design limitations. In addition, this webinar will discuss working examples that have been implemented in the City of Medford, Oregon.

Learning Objectives:

• Recognize safety concerns and challenges of designing bicycle infrastructure in and around skewed railroad grade crossings
• Discuss newly designed projects and the planning, design, and implementation of two-way separated bike lanes
• Relate a summary of updated revisions made to the MUTCD 11th Edition with respect to cyclist
